Love never fails
如今常存的有信、有望、有愛、這三樣、其中最大的是愛。
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

本周由牧師 Rick 來續談有關博愛的面面觀之一、二.
前幾天剛過了元宵節, 這馬年的節慶活動, 也正式告一段落, 正所謂年節易過, 但是後面日子可長的呢. 希望大家秉持平常心 [常常喜樂, 不住禱告, 時時感恩] 祈願新的一年, 平安喜樂, 心想事成, 基督與你我同在.
今年元宵節, 又恰逢西洋情人節(因為閏年的關係, 其實每十九年就會碰到一次), 應景的玫瑰花頓時身價看漲, 只因有太多的痴情人, 想藉一捧鮮花來表達愛慕之情, 想必破費多多; 可是, 你知道基督純正的愛, 卻是不費分文, 輕輕鬆鬆隨處可取嗎?
哥林多前書 I Corinthians 13:1-8; 13
1 我若能說萬人的方言、並天使的話語、卻沒有愛、我就成了鳴的鑼、響的鈸一般。
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 我若有先知講道之能、也明白各樣的奧秘、各樣的知識．而且有全備的信、叫我能彀移山、卻沒有愛、我就算不得甚麼。
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 我若將所有的賙濟窮人、又捨己身叫人焚燒、卻沒有愛、仍然與我無益。
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 愛是恆久忍耐、又有恩慈．愛是不嫉妒．愛是不自誇．不張狂．
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 不作害羞的事．不求自己的益處．不輕易發怒．不計算人的惡．
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 不喜歡不義．只喜歡真理．
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 凡事包容．凡事相信．凡事盼望．凡事忍耐。
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 愛是永不止息．先知講道之能、終必歸於無有．說方言之能、終必停止、知識也終必歸於無有。
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
13 如今常存的有信、有望、有愛、這三樣、其中最大的是愛。
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
所謂"基督純正的愛 Pure love of Christ", 就是我們上禮拜談到的"博愛 Charity" (摩羅乃書 Moroni 7:52博愛是基督純正的愛 Charity is the pure love of Christ), 自盤古開天, 人類由伊甸園淨土回歸人世凡間, 其中典故, 想必大家耳熟能詳, 我就不多說, 只單獨探討"基督純正的愛"這部分.
摩羅乃書 Moroni 7:50-53
５０ 如果一個人溫順而虛心，並藉著聖靈的力量承認耶穌是基督，他就必須要有博愛；因為如果他沒有博愛，他就算不得甚麼；所以他必須要有博愛。
And if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost, that Jesus is the Christ, he must needs have charity; for if he have not charity, he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity.
５１ 愛是忍耐持久，是仁慈，不忌妒，不自誇，不易被激怒，不動惡念，不在罪惡中快樂，卻在真理中快樂，凡事擔當，凡事相信，凡事希望，凡事忍酎。因此，我所愛的弟兄們，如果你們沒有博愛，你們就算不得甚麼，因為博愛是從不失敗的。
And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things; wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth.
５２ 因此，你們要牢守著博愛，那是一切事物中最偉大的，因為一切事物都必失敗；但博愛是基督純正的愛，這種愛持守到永遠；凡在末日被斷定具有博愛的，他的景況一定很好。
Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail; but charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth for ever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with them.
５３ 因此，我所愛的弟兄們，你們要用全部的心力向父禱告，使你們得以充滿他賜給所有那些他兒子耶穌基督的真正信徒們的這一種愛；使你們得以成為 神的兒子；當他顯現的時候，使我們像他一樣（ 因為我們必見到他的真體）我們可以懷有這種希望；也使我們得以被潔淨，像他一樣純潔。阿們。
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son Jesus Christ, that ye may become the sons of God, that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is, that we may have this hope, that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.
神派他的獨生愛子 - 基督耶穌, 來人間的目的, 就是要感化犯錯的人們, 使人們得以經由基督耶穌的引導, 真心悔改, 並經洗禮的淨化, 研讀並遵守經文的誡律, 以求回歸到 神的身邊; 這種種作為, 都是要我們發自內心的深省, 信靠基督耶穌, 除了聖靈伴身與時時禱告祈求的引導, 又可得到來自 神的眷顧與愛護. 你瞧, 這不是很簡單的事? 有讓你破費之處嗎?
馬太福音 Matthew 18:21-35
21 那時彼得進前來、對耶穌說、主阿、我弟兄得罪我、我當饒恕他幾次呢。到七次可以麼。
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
22 耶穌說、我對你說、不是到七次、乃是到七十個七次。
Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
23 天國好像一個王、要和他僕人算賬。
"Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
24 纔算的時候、有人帶了一個欠一千萬銀子的來。
As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him.
25 因為他沒有甚麼償還之物、主人吩咐把他和他妻子兒女、並一切所有的都賣了償還。
Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
26 那僕人就俯伏拜他說、主阿、寬容我將來我都要還清。
"The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.'
27 那僕人的主人、就動了慈心、把他釋放了、並且免了他的債。
The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 那僕人出來、遇見他的一個同伴、欠他十兩銀子、便揪著他、掐住他的喉嚨、說、你把所欠的還我。
"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded.
29 他的同伴就俯伏央求他、說、寬容我罷、將來我必還清。
"His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.'
30 他不肯、竟去把他下在監裡、等他還了所欠的債。
"But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.
31 眾同伴看見他所作的事、就甚憂愁、去把這事都告訴了主人。
When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 於是主人叫了他來、對他說、你這惡奴才、你央求我、我就把你所欠的都免了．
"Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.
33 你不應當憐恤你的同伴、像我憐恤你麼。
Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?'
34 主人就大怒、把他交給掌刑的、等他還清了所欠的債。
In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 你們各人、若不從心裡饒恕你的弟兄、我天父也要這樣待你們了。
"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."
文內的十兩銀子, 約等同當時100天的工資; 一千萬銀子, 換算當時工資則約莫是1500年的工資, 可謂是巨額債務, 而 神的寬宏大量, 免除了人的債, 人卻不知感恩圖報, 將這福份分享, 反倒是窮凶惡極, 甚至動用官府的力量逼迫他人, 可就完全失卻 神減免他的債的美意. 弄到最後, 反使自己也吃上官司, 這不就是不守 - 愛鄰如己誡律的現世報嗎?

P.S馬年開春後, 上課時多委由 Belinda 即席翻譯(她把這當作是托益考試前的臨時測驗), 今天也不例外, 課後 Jai-yu 特地與 Belinda 面對面談論即席翻譯的困難處, 並建議她應該熟讀聖經, 因為上課內容離不開聖經, 如此才能通曉典故出處或意涵, 對即席翻譯會有很大的幫助, 最後除了鼓勵 Belinda 並給了她一個大大的讚! (我們都給她兩個以上大大的讚讚讚)
P.S 而將於七月來台的 Lade 家的 Sarah 和 Amanda 倆姊妹, 也趁機跟 Belinda 互留 email 和臉書帳號, 想必是想藉由無遠弗屆的網路, 來個 24 hrs 的聯誼和行前的溝通吧. 針對倆姊妹的到來, 我們也將規劃一連串的活動, 有靜態 - 教室上課, 也會有動態的 - 戶外踏青教學, 期望各位屆時能撥冗參與各項活動.
