(長老 法蘭克 Elder Frank Van Fleet)
“新年快樂”過年期間大家有沒有出去玩啊?長老法蘭克還跟一旁的長老丹現學現賣一句 “恭喜發財”,我們這邊Wayne馬上接 “紅包拿來”可惜他聽不懂,呵呵呵!
寒暄過後,長老法蘭克進入課題說：本周講背叛 Betray其實應該先提嫉妒 Jealousy,因為是因嫉妒而產生的背叛,但是 神的恩典卻讓悲劇以喜劇收場(因禍得福),所以,我就點明背叛 Betray來說.
故事的主人翁是約瑟,雅各(後蒙主恩,改名為以色列)的兒子,雖然被兄長陷害、出賣為奴,雖身處異域- 埃及,憑藉堅定不移的信心,蒙全能的主保護與賜福,終於擺脫被背叛的噩運,不僅拯救了埃及和以色列,也彰顯、榮耀主的恩典.
申命記 Deuteronomy 1:8
8 如今我將這地擺在你們面前、你們要進去得這地、就是耶和華向你們列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、起誓應許賜給他們和他們後裔為業之地。
See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land that the LORD swore he would give to your fathers--to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--and to their descendants after them."
神的應許 Promise of God聖經裡提到 亞伯拉罕Abraham、以撒Isaac、雅各Jacob猶太先組的名稱有33次之多.摩西也多次提到應許之地 Promise of Land,就是要給猶太人,一個重新建國的機會.
創世記 Genesis 35:10-11
10 且對他說、你的名原是雅各、從今以後不要再叫雅各、要叫以色列、這樣、他就改名叫以色列。
God said to him, "Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel." So he named him Israel.
11 神又對他說、我是全能的 神、你要生養眾多、將來有一族、和多國的民從你而生、又有君王從你而出。
And God said to him, "I am God Almighty; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will come from your body.
猶太人的先祖雅各 Jacob因為神的恩典,賜名為以色列 Israel,爾後子孫就以此名建國.
雅各他有12 個孩子,其中排行11的約瑟和老么班傑明是他和愛妻瑞秋所生;雅各曾替瑞秋的父親工作了14年後,才娶瑞秋為妻.因班傑明出生不久,愛妻瑞秋就過世,其他兒子都已成家立業,所以老來又得子,很是寵愛17歲的約瑟.
創世記 Genesis 37:3-28; 31-35
3 以色列原來愛約瑟過於愛他的眾子、因為約瑟是他年老生的、他給約瑟作了一件彩衣。
Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made a richly ornamented robe for him.
4 約瑟的哥哥們見父親愛約瑟過於愛他們、就恨約瑟、不與他說和睦的話。
When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.
以色列他有12 個孩子,但是他鍾愛與愛妻瑞秋所生的約瑟Joseph,因他與其他已成家立業的兄長,年紀差一大截,顯得特別的年輕,以色列特為約瑟添購一件又炫又亮麗的彩衣,他又常向父親告狀,兄長們欺負他的事跡,終於引起其他兄長的嫉妒與不滿.
5 約瑟作了一夢、告訴他哥哥們、他們就越發恨他。
Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.
6 約瑟對他們說、請聽我所作的夢．
He said to them, "Listen to this dream I had:
7 我們在田裡捆禾稼、我的捆起來站著、你們的捆來圍著我的捆下拜。
We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it."
8 他的哥哥們回答說、難道你真要作我們的王麼、難道你真要管轄我們麼．他們就因為他的夢、和他的話、越發恨他。
His brothers said to him, "Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?" And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said.
9 後來他又作了一夢、也告訴他的哥哥們說、看哪、我又作了一夢、夢見太陽、月亮、與十一個星、向我下拜。
Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. "Listen," he said, "I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me."
10 約瑟將這夢告訴他父親、和他哥哥們、他父親就責備他說、你作的這是甚麼夢、難道我和你母親、你弟兄、果然要來俯伏在地、向你下拜麼。
When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, "What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?"
約瑟為所作的兩個夢下一番註解,不意更引起眾弟兄的怨懟.也同時興起謀害他的念頭.
11 他哥哥們都嫉妒他．他父親卻把這話存在心裡。
His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.
12 約瑟的哥哥們往示劍去、放他們父親的羊。
Now his brothers had gone to graze their father's flocks near Shechem,
13 以色列對約瑟說、你哥哥們不是在示劍放羊麼、你來、我要打發你往他們那裡去。約瑟說、我在這裡。
and Israel said to Joseph, "As you know, your brothers are grazing the flocks near Shechem. Come, I am going to send you to them." "Very well," he replied.
14 以色列說、你去看看你哥哥們平安不平安、群羊平安不平安、就回來報信給我．於是打發他出希伯崙谷、他就往示劍去了。
So he said to him, "Go and see if all is well with your brothers and with the flocks, and bring word back to me." Then he sent him off from the Valley of Hebron. When Joseph arrived at Shechem,
15 有人遇見他在田野走迷了路、就問他說、你找甚麼。
a man found him wandering around in the fields and asked him, "What are you looking for?"
16 他說、我找我的哥哥們、求你告訴我、他們在何處放羊。
He replied, "I'm looking for my brothers. Can you tell me where they are grazing their flocks?"
17 那人說、他們已經走了、我聽見他們說、要往多坍去．約瑟就去追趕他哥哥們、遇見他們在多坍。
"They have moved on from here," the man answered. "I heard them say, 'Let's go to Dothan.'" So Joseph went after his brothers and found them near Dothan.
18 他們遠遠的看見他、趁他還沒有走到跟前、大家就同謀要害死他。
But they saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted to kill him.
19 彼此說、你看、那作夢的來了。
"Here comes that dreamer!" they said to each other.
20 來罷、我們將他殺了、丟在一個坑裡、就說有惡獸把他喫了、我們且看他的夢將來怎麼樣。
"Come now, let's kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we'll see what comes of his dreams."
針對約瑟對所做兩個夢的解說,眾弟兄只當是癡人說夢,不以為意,但是看到那件彩衣,嫉妒怨懟的心卻無法消去,遂展開謀害的行動.
21 流便聽見了要救他脫離他們的手、說、我們不可害他的性命。
When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their hands. "Let's not take his life," he said.
22 又說、不可流他的血、可以把他丟在這野地的坑裡、不可下手害他．流便的意思是要救他脫離他們的手、把他歸還他的父親。
"Don't shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the desert, but don't lay a hand on him." Reuben said this to rescue him from them and take him back to his father.
23 約瑟到了他哥哥們那裡、他們就剝了他的外衣、就是他穿的那件彩衣．
So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe--the richly ornamented robe he was wearing--
24 把他丟在坑裡．那坑是空的、裡頭沒有水。
and they took him and threw him into the cistern. Now the cistern was empty; there was no water in it.
25 他們坐下喫飯、舉目觀看、見有一夥米甸的以實瑪利人、從基列來、用駱駝馱著香料、乳香、沒藥、要帶下埃及去。
As they sat down to eat their meal, they looked up and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. Their camels were loaded with spices, balm and myrrh, and they were on their way to take them down to Egypt.
26 猶大對眾弟兄說、我們殺我們的兄弟、藏了他的血、有甚麼益處呢。
Judah said to his brothers, "What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood?
27 我們不如將他賣給以實瑪利人、不可下手害他、因為他是我們的兄弟、我們的骨肉．眾弟兄就聽從了他。
Come, let's sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood." His brothers agreed.
28 有些米甸的商人、從那裡經過、哥哥們就把約瑟從坑裡拉上來、講定二十舍客勒銀子、把約瑟賣給以實瑪利人．他們就把約瑟帶到埃及去了。
So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.
兄弟間畢竟是有血緣關係,還是有人不忍取他性命,就只是想教訓他、讓他受些折磨.殊不知,冥冥之中, 神已安排好一切.
31 他們宰了一隻公山羊、把約瑟的那件彩衣染了血．
Then they got Joseph's robe, slaughtered a goat and dipped the robe in the blood.
32 打發人送到他們的父親那裡說、我們撿了這個、請認一認、是你兒子的外衣不是。
They took the ornamented robe back to their father and said, "We found this. Examine it to see whether it is your son's robe."
33 他認得、就說、這是我兒子的外衣、有惡獸把他喫了、約瑟被撕碎了、撕碎了。
He recognized it and said, "It is my son's robe! Some ferocious animal has devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces."
34 雅各便撕裂衣服、腰間圍上麻布、為他兒子悲哀了多日。
Then Jacob tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and mourned for his son many days.
35 他的兒女都起來安慰他．他卻不肯受安慰、說、我必悲哀著下陰間到我兒子那裡．約瑟的父親就為他哀哭。
All his sons and daughters came to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. "No," he said, "in mourning will I go down to the grave to my son." So his father wept for him.
人的原罪之一-嫉妒,轉而成恨,其瘋狂足以毀滅一個人.以色列原本想差約瑟去探放羊弟兄的班,不意竟成為不良弟兄們,謀害他的天賜良機.被蒙在鼓裡的老父親以色列,除了自責還有萬般的不捨.
創世記 Genesis 39:1
1 約瑟被帶下埃及去．有一個埃及人是法老的內臣、護衛長波提乏、從那些帶下他來的以實瑪利人手下買了他去。
Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.
約瑟這一去,秉著對上主堅貞的信靠與遵行Trust & Obey反而因禍得福,恩賜源源不絕而來,不僅位及人臣,權傾朝野,也因此救了埃及和以色列兩個民族的人民.(這是長老法蘭克下節課,將要開講的精彩內容預告,不容錯過,記得要來聽講喔!)
馬太福音 Matthew 27:17-18
17 眾人聚集的時候、彼拉多就對他們說、你們要我釋放那一個給你們．是巴拉巴呢、是稱為基督的耶穌呢。
So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, "Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?"
18 巡撫原知道、他們是因為嫉妒纔把他解了來。
For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.
一如先前所說,因嫉妒生恨,足以使人瘋狂.所以,那些市民,竟接受當時羅馬教廷的唆使,一致要吊死耶穌基督.庸俗無知、被怨恨迷失心性的他們,又豈知耶穌基督三天後的復活.
馬太福音 Matthew 5:43-46
43 你們聽見有話說、『當愛你的鄰舍、恨你的仇敵。』
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
44 只是我告訴你們、要愛你們的仇敵．為那逼迫你們的禱告。
But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 這樣、就可以作你們天父的兒子．因為他叫日頭照好人、也照歹人、降雨給義人、也給不義的人。
that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46 你們若單愛那愛你們的人．有甚麼賞賜呢．就是稅吏不也是這樣行麼。
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
神一直對我們説,敬愛主也要關愛鄰人.所以,本不應該有背叛的事件發生,就因為人們的嫉妒、恨,引發一連串的大事件.像剛剛所說,沒有背叛,也無法完成神所要恩賜給約瑟的一切成就.
但是,這種因嫉妒、恨引起的背叛還是能免則免,因為 神的恩賜,並不是輕易就可以臨到你我的身上,說不定毀滅性的後果,將會由你我自己來承擔.
馬太福音 Matthew 17:22-23
22 他們還住在加利利的時候、耶穌對門徒說、人子將要被交在人手裡．
When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.
23 他們要殺害他、第三日他要復活。門徒就大大的憂愁。
They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life." And the disciples were filled with grief.
信靠萬能的上主,將可使我們時時轉危為安,而遵行祂的誡律,有一天,將帶領我們前往天家,無庸置疑.
課後,長老丹提示說：去年暑假 Sarah 和 Amanda 倆姐妹,在台灣佈道所,也造成不小的旋風,有鑑於此,今年可能再派一組人員過去(好棒棒),不知道你們有沒有什麼要求、或者計劃?希望近期內可以提出來,讓大家先討論.
Jai-yu 在旁邊說：今晚又是已達可以停班、課的大風雪的天氣,就只是要對遠在台灣的你們,有個交待,大家夥勞師動眾的駕駛四輪驅動的車輛,路上慢慢的走,時間拖延許多,還是趕過來開課.(感恩)
