今天, 我將帶領大家導讀舊約的部份, 因為我在某些團體聽聞, 已經不再研讀舊約了, 可是舊約仍有研讀的價值, 放棄不研讀, 法蘭克長老覺得真是太可惜了.

我們今天來翻閱列王記上的十七章, 整章都是在談先知以利亞 Elijah 的事件, 尤其是他幫忙一位寡婦, 經祈求禱告, 使她的兒子死而復活的事, 更是神蹟的見證.

等等我們頌讚詩歌“我全心信靠主耶穌 I’m trusting thee, Lord Jesus” 之後, 將請 Jai-Yu 帶領大家做課前祈福.

這首歌的詞意, 也正是我們今天的主人翁以利亞的一致言行. 正因為他信靠主耶穌, 所以, 他聽從主耶穌的指示, 結果就是一一完成祂的旨意.

有時候, 我們常說要去做什麼, 話在口邊, 卻因為雜務太多, 一時疏忽就給“自然忘掉了”, 結果是什麼也沒有做成; 但是, 今天主耶穌的話語, 既然已經說出來, 祂決不會食言, 並且一定會完成祂自己所說的每一句話.

在今天的導讀之前, 我先解釋一下人物: 亞哈 Ahab 是當時以色列的領導人, 他的言行多有觸怒以色列的  神, 致使耶和華遷怒於他的程度, 勝過所有以色列之前的領導人.

因為亞哈王的惡名昭彰, 觸怒了以色列的  神, 耶和華遂派遣先知以利亞到以色列; 接著我們在經文章節中, 來看看被派遣而來的先知以利亞, 到底做了什麼事.

列王記上 I Kings 17:1-24

1 基列寄居的提斯比人以利亞、對亞哈說、我指著所事奉永生耶和華以色列的　神起誓、這幾年我若不禱告、必不降露不下雨。

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word."

(這裡可以看到, 即將面臨的是一場長期間的乾旱, )

2 耶和華的話臨到以利亞說、

Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah:

3 你離開這裡、往東去、藏在約但河東邊的基立溪旁。

"Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.

4 你要喝那溪裡的水．我已吩咐烏鴉在那裡供養你。

You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there."

(因為  神將停止降下雨露, 意即地表的水, 即將乾涸, 所以耶和華要以利亞, 躲藏在一個有山澗的水源地, 不致缺少飲用水, 並有烏鴉會口銜食物, 來供養以利亞. 讓他飲食無缺, 生命不至於因匱乏, 而有致命的危機.)

(先知以利亞一心信靠 神, 並遵奉耶和華的旨意, 忍受堅苦的生活環境, 等待適當的時機, 全面執行並完成 神的旨意.)

5 於是以利亞照著耶和華的話、去住在約但河東的基立溪旁。

So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.

6 烏鴉早晚給他叼餅、和肉來．他也喝那溪裡的水。

The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

7 過了些日子、溪水就乾了、因為雨沒有下在地上。

Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

(終於, 久旱不雨的天, 使得小溪也乾涸, 無法再供應以利亞的生活所需, 所以,  神對他說: )

8 耶和華的話臨到他、說、

Then the word of the LORD came to him:

9 你起身往西頓的撒勒法去〔撒勒法與路加福音四章二十六節同〕住在那裡．我已吩咐那裡的一個寡婦供養你。

"Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food."

(當然先知以利亞, 再次的遵奉 神的旨意動身前往)

10 以利亞就起身往撒勒法去、到了城門、見有一個寡婦在那裡撿柴．以利亞呼叫他、說、求你用器皿取點水來給我喝。

So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?"

11 他去取水的時候、以利亞又呼叫他、說、也求你拿點餅來給我。

As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread."

12 他說、我指著永生耶和華你的　神起誓、我沒有餅、罈內只有一把麵、瓶裡只有一點油．我現在找兩根柴、回家要為我和我兒子作餅．我們喫了、死就死罷。

"As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread--only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it--and die."

(就這麼一份只夠母子倆一餐的糧了, 要是先給了以利亞, 我們母子倆, 豈不是要挨餓了? 更可怕的是, 明天起就要餓肚子, 直到餓死為止了)

13 以利亞對他說、不要懼怕．可以照你所說的去作罷．只要先為我作一個小餅、拿來給我、然後為你和你的兒子作餅。

Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.

14 因為耶和華以色列的　神如此說、罈內的麵必不減少、瓶裡的油必不缺短、直到耶和華使雨降在地上的日子。

For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.'"

15 婦人就照以利亞的話去行．他和他家中的人、並以利亞、喫了許多日子。

She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.

16 罈內的麵果不減少、瓶裡的油也不缺短、正如耶和華藉以利亞所說的話。

For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.

(在這裡, 耶和華展現了祂的大能, 原先只剩下一點桶底的麵粉, 一點瓶底的食用油, 若是用完也沒有了; 以利亞讓她先為自己做餅, 再為她們母子自己做餅, 豈知, 每每做完, 不管桶底的麵粉, 還是瓶底的油, 仍都還剩一點點…)

(我實在喜歡這裡所說的: 因為寡婦真心以侍奉以利亞- 以色列 神的使者為優先考量, 間接的得到耶和華的眷顧, 使她不致匱乏而有餘糧度日)

(而從故事中得到的啟示是, 我們信靠耶和華, 遵奉祂的旨意,耶和華也必然眷顧我們, 就像是故事中的孤兒寡母; 但是, 這故事精彩的部份, 這會兒正要上場呢, 我們且再看下去)

17 這事以後、作那家主母的婦人、他兒子病了．病得甚重、以致身無氣息。

Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing.

(寡婦的兒子因病重, 人都斷了氣了, 這…不是死了嗎? 婦人既傷心又氣憤, 對著以利亞大聲責罵起來說: 你說是遵奉以色列的 神, 要來解救我們的, 這下可好, 我兒子反倒死在前頭了)

18 婦人對以利亞說、神人哪、我與你何干、你竟到我這裡來、使　神想念我的罪、以致我的兒子死呢。

She said to Elijah, "What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?"

19 以利亞對他說、把你兒子交給我。以利亞就從婦人懷中將孩子接過來、抱到他所住的樓中、放在自己的床上．

"Give me your son," Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed.

20 就求告耶和華、說、耶和華我的　神阿、我寄居在這寡婦的家裡、你就降禍與他、使他的兒子死了麼。

Then he cried out to the LORD, "O LORD my God, have you brought tragedy also upon this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die?"

21 以利亞三次伏在孩子的身上、求告耶和華、說、耶和華我的　神阿、求你使這孩子的靈魂、仍入他的身體。

Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried to the LORD, "O LORD my God, let this boy's life return to him!"

22 耶和華應允以利亞的話、孩子的靈魂、仍入他的身體、他就活了。

The LORD heard Elijah's cry, and the boy's life returned to him, and he lived.

23 以利亞將孩子從樓上抱下來、進屋子、交給他母親、說、看哪、你的兒子活了。

Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, "Look, your son is alive!"

24 婦人對以利亞說、現在我知道你是神人、耶和華藉你口所說的話是真的。

Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth."

當我們讀到先知以利亞, 奉耶和華之意, 詛咒大地沒雨露時, 全境將慢慢的乾涸, 但是,  神眷顧著他, 安排他前往水源地隱藏, 甚至還有烏鴉銜來食物餵養他; 直到一滴水也沒有的時候, 再次的指示他換個地方, 前往一處寡婦的住宅.

藉由寡婦對 神的信心, 真心奉待以色列  神的使者, 先知以利亞, 把僅存的糧食供奉出來, 耶和華也使她的糧食與食油, 在以利亞居住的期間, 從沒有匱乏過.

這真是一段相當美好的故事, 是不是? 當你想所有食物到吃今天為止, 明天起就要開始挨餓了, 但是, 你卻發現你的糧食, 每天取用過後, 仍一直都有存底, 似乎怎麼也吃不完一樣, 就這樣子的持續了好長的一段時日.

無形中, 大大的鼓舞著寡婦, 增添她無盡的信心, 然後悲慘的事, 臨到她身上- 兒子病重而亡. 我不知道 神為什麼要這麼“多事”? 然後經由先知以利亞的再三禱告祈求, 神應允了寡婦的兒子, 戲劇性的死而復活.

如此一來, 寡婦真正的體認到先知以利亞, 真的是以色列 神的使者, 耶和華是真的值得信靠的 神.

這故事不獨教導當時的寡婦, 也是能教導現今的我們, 認知到耶和華的大能, 不是嗎? 我們再來回顧一下故事內容, 耶和華派遣先知以利亞, 並沒有減損祂的大能的施展, 同時也能完成祂的旨意. 所以, 我們應當能確知, 神眷顧我們一如祂眷顧, 故事中的寡婦和她的兒子般的細心.

每當我讀到這個故事時, 故事的主題- 信靠主耶穌, 一直縈繞在我心中, 久久不去; 而更加的確認, 在主來說沒有什麼事, 是祂無法完成的.

接下來的詩歌“ 神將會眷顧你God will take care of you”, 也是一首令我們更加確認, 大能的 神, 自古迄今永遠沒有改變, 藉由這些經文的分享, 讓我們更加的確信, 祂是有考量到我們的立場的, 祂期待賜福給我們, 眷顧我們的日常生活, 把愛分享給我們, 只要我們遵奉祂的誡命.

“ 神將會眷顧你God will take care of you” 歌詞：

“ 神將會眷顧你, 不必畏怯. 祂是你日以繼夜的中保, 溫和的保有祂的所有, 決不會無故離你而去”

“God will take care of you, be not afraid.  He is your safeguard through sunshine and shade. Tenderly watching and keeping his own, he will not leave you to wander alone.”

“ 神將會眷顧你, 日出到日落. 護持你的每一步, 每一個方向. 祂是你的牧者, 保護者和指導員, 引領祂的兒女來到水草邊定居.”

“God will take care of you through all the day, shielding your steps, directing your way. He is your shepherd, protector and guide, leading his children where still waters lie.”

“ 神將會眷顧你, 在世上的每一天. 賜給你無人可及、無限的祝福. 祂也眷顧你過往的每一天, 直到錫安世界的來臨.”

“God will take care of you as long as you live, granting you blessings no other can give. He will take care of you when time has passed, safe to his kingdom will bring you at last.”

“ 神將會眷顧你, 直到末世來臨. 天父是救贖我們的朋友. 只要你信靠祂, 主耶穌將會回應你的呼求, 眷顧你的所有”

“God will take care of you still to the end, O what a father, redeemer and friend.  Jesus will answer whenever you call, he will take care of you trust him for all.”

此詩歌所傳遞出來的訊息是：信耶穌、得永生, 正是與我們今天的主題“信賴 Trust”相呼應. 不是嗎?
