這星期是由Matthew and Jai-Yu 為我們導讀經文, 只是課堂上多了幾位佳賓 – 長老 Dan 以及雙胞胎兒子 Jared & Jordan 和他們的好朋友 Jeff.
馬太福音 Matthew 14:21-33
21 喫的人除了婦女孩子、約有五千。
The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.
22 耶穌隨即催門徒上船、先渡到那邊去、等他叫眾人散開。
Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.
23 散了眾人以後、他就獨自上山去禱告．到了晚上、只有他一人在那裡。
After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,
24 那時船在海中、因風不順、被浪搖撼。
but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 夜裡四更天、耶穌在海面上走、往門徒那裡去。
During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
26 門徒看見他在海面上走、就驚慌了、說、是個鬼怪．便害怕、喊叫起來。
When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
27 耶穌連忙對他們說、你們放心．是我、不要怕。
But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
28 彼得說、主、如果是你、請叫我從水面上走到你那裡去。
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
29 耶穌說、你來罷。彼得就從船上下去、在水面上走、要到耶穌那裡去．
"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 只因見風甚大、就害怕．將要沉下去、便喊著說、主阿、救我。
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31 耶穌趕緊伸手拉住他、說、你這小信的人哪、為甚麼疑惑呢。
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
32 他們上了船、風就住了。
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33 在船上的人都拜他說、你真是 神的兒子了。
Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
Matthew：近日來因工作時間上的改變, 不只使我花很大的心力去調整適應, 也使我情緒上起伏不定, 整個人幾乎盪到谷底; 生活中, 難免有時風、有時浪 - 起起落落, 想起當年還在大學唸書時, 也曾有過類似的經驗, 所以我即刻翻閱此章節, 再三的詳讀經文, 心中默禱並仰望 耶和華, 心境逐漸平息. 你們呢 ? 可也曾有過如此煩心的事發生過 ?
Jai-yu：之前對新搬遷的居所, 猶在調適中, 對在學校餐廳打工的我, 除了語言溝通不良的困擾外, 總覺得伙伴們是處處刁難、霸凌有意找碴, 我也是仰望 耶和華, 祈求禱告 “Help Me”, 終於渡過最難熬的時段, 如今同事相處融洽, 工作上也平穩妥當.
Vincent：辛苦幾個月研發的工作突被喊停, 客戶不只不付相關已研發費用, 還要我們把已研發完成的產品先遞交給他們看看, 老闆卻只說去跟客戶談談…此刻心情盪到谷底, 希望能為我禱告, 使這事早日圓滿完成.
Rachel：公司35周年慶的一系列活動中, 我們這組拿下羽毛球的冠軍, 感謝主! 另一方面, 我希望我的英文能有長足的進步.
Dan：兩星期以前, 我兒子們與其他伙伴, 再度去菲律賓傳福音, 發現他們的教會因先前風災而破損不堪使用, (原本就是簡易的毛草屋), 致當地長老、牧師與上百名會眾幾幾乎是露天席地而坐, 菲國炎熱不在台灣之下, 又沒有遮風避雨之處所, 回來彙報給AAIM小組, 由AAIM著手發起募捐, 為菲國會眾蓋一所水泥建築物的永久屋.
Jeff：我與朋友去不同教會, 在不同的時地, 都聽到同一首歌 ”Let us shake off the coals” (Hymn #257) 是否是對我有所啟示 ? [Dan 解釋這歌詞的意思跟以上經文的內涵相同]- -[仰望信靠主, 必能抖掉身上的灰渣(暗指煩惱)]

前幾天, 忽接到長老 Dan 的email, 話說有事要宣達, 希望已領洗的會眾都出席參加.
共體時艱, 人飢己飢.
美國教會轄下－亞澳國際佈道團AAIM(Asia Australia International Mission)一週前會議上說：
(1) 菲律賓教區, 發展迅速, 現已有七處教會與佈道所, 前些時日因天災頻仍, 致有些簡易的教會與佈道所, 在風雨中受損嚴重, 幾達不堪使用階段, 特發動本土(美國)各教區會眾樂捐, 並希望大家能為他們祈福.
網路跨越時空無國界, 傳播福音的最佳利器.
(2) 由倆長老 Dan Brotherton & Duff Daugherty 與倆牧師 Rick Lade & Matthew Moellmanns 所組成的網路傳福音團隊, 即起各輪值一週, (長老 Jared Smith 近日來重回飛航員行列, 時間難敲定) 敬請大家踴躍參加週日早上的”空中做禮拜 / 電視主日學”!
促使四海一家, 世界大同的理念, 以早日完成 神的王國再臨! 阿門!
