耶穌基督常常用寓言以講故事的方式, 來闡釋天國的福音, 當說到基督徒的德行時, 就把它比喻為光; 若是把光放在山頂上, 光照四方, 則所有人都可以看到; 若是把它藏在谷底, 就無人知曉了.
馬太福音 Matthew 5:14-16
14 你們是世上的光．城造在山上、是不能隱藏的。
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 人點燈、不放在斗底下、是放在燈臺上、就照亮一家的人。
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 你們的光也當這樣照在人前、叫他們看見你們的好行為、便將榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
因為耶穌為我們所立下的, 可是完美無瑕的典範, 所以, 身為基督徒的言行, 難免遭人以放大鏡來檢視, 當是要格外用心維護.

約翰福音 John 8:12
12 耶穌又對眾人說、我是世界的光．跟從我的、就不在黑暗裡走、必要得著生命的光。
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
世界的光點 - 耶穌的言行, 是我們要傳承的首要目標, 應該大方展現在人前, 而大聲說出“我是基督徒”, 則已跨出傳揚福音的第一步.
哥林多後書 2 Corinthians 4:6
6 廉潔、知識、恆忍、恩慈、聖靈的感化、無偽的愛心、
in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;
正視耶穌基督, 讓光直探入心靈深處, 深深感受到耶穌就是耶和華的愛子.
馬太福音 Matthew 5:15
15 人點燈、不放在斗底下、是放在燈臺上、就照亮一家的人。
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
一盞燈的光暈, 所能照明的地方有限, 若是能齊集眾人之力, 則光照耀四方, 就沒有問題; 就算是散佈在各個角落的點點光芒, 也能互相照應, 相互輝映.
什麼事會阻礙光芒照耀?
- Fear 害怕
- Shyness (Shame) 害羞
- Lack of knowledge 欠缺知識
- Busy 忙碌
- Mistake (Sins) 過錯
- Not Popular 不夠通俗
- Lazy 懶惰
- Private 不敢張揚
以上種種行為, 也許是藉口, 也或許是無心之過, 應該Repent悔改 (改變)
雅各書 James 1:5
5 你們中間若有缺少智慧的、應當求那厚賜與眾人、也不斥責人的 神、主就必賜給他。
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
什麼事可幫忙光芒照耀?
- Never give up 永不放棄
- Help others 幫助他人
- Pray 禱告
- Passion 熱情
- Study (Read God’s word) 研讀聖經經文
- Being kind 良善習性
- sharing testimony 見證分享
- Attend church 出席教會做禮拜
- Repent 悔改 (改變)
以上種種行為, 堅持下去, 不僅影響別人, 更可將榮耀歸與耶和華,
詩篇 Psalms 119:89-105
89 耶和華阿、你的話安定在天、直到永遠。
Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
90 你的誠實存到萬代。你堅定了地、地就長存。
Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.
91 天地照你的安排、存到今日．萬物都是你的僕役。
Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.
92 我若不是喜愛你的律法、早就在苦難中滅絕了。
If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
93 我永不忘記你的訓詞．因你用這訓詞將我救活了。
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.
94 我是屬你的、求你救我．因我尋求了你的訓詞。
Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts.
95 惡人等待我、要滅絕我．我卻要揣摩你的法度。
The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes.
96 我看萬事盡都有限．惟有你的命令、極其寬廣。
To all perfection I see a limit; but your commands are boundless.
97 我何等愛慕你的律法、終日不住地思想。
Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.
98 你的命令常存在我心裡、使我比仇敵有智慧。
Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me.
99 我比我的師傅更通達．因我思想你的法度。
I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.
100 我比年老的更明白、因我守了你的訓詞。
I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.
101 我禁止我腳走一切的邪路、為要遵守你的話。
I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word.
102 我沒有偏離你的典章．因為你教訓了我。
I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me.
103 你的言語在我上膛何等甘美．在我口中比蜜更甜。
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 我藉著你的訓詞、得以明白．所以我恨一切的假道。
I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.
105 你的話是我腳前的燈、是我路上的光。
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
聖經經文的記載, 全都是神的金言玉語, 我們應當時時溫習, 勞勞記頌, 除了聖靈往好的方面領導, 經文的理解, 更可幫助我們做出正確的抉擇.
詩篇 Psalms 27:1,3
1 〔大衛的詩。〕耶和華是我的亮光、是我的拯救．我還怕誰呢．耶和華是我性命的保障．〔保障或作力量〕我還懼誰呢。
Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?
3 雖有軍兵安營攻擊我、我的心也不害怕．雖然興起刀兵攻擊我、我必仍舊安穩。
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.
列王記下 2 Kings 6:15-17
15 神人的僕人清早起來出去、看見車馬軍兵圍困了城。僕人對神人說、哀哉、我主阿、我們怎樣行纔好呢。
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked.
16 神人說、不要懼怕、與我們同在的、比與他們同在的更多。
"Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
17 以利沙禱告說、耶和華阿、求你開這少年人的眼目、使他能看見。耶和華開他的眼目、他就看見滿山有火車火馬圍繞以利沙。
And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
約翰福音 John 1:15
15 約翰為他作見證、喊著說、這就是我曾說、那在我以後來的、反成了在我以前的．因他本來在我以前。
John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.'"
耶穌基督在自己的家國 – 以色列, 並不是那麼的受歡迎, 因為他們誤解了耶穌基督是來拯救他們, 是來解脫他們因不聽從神轉告先知的話語, 而淪為四百年的亡國奴(羅馬帝國的奴隸). 耶穌基督想做的只是：你們悔改à接受洗禮à將來回到天國.
約翰福音 John 1:14
14 道成了肉身、住在我們中間、充充滿滿的有恩典有真理。我們也見過他的榮光、正是父獨生子的榮光。
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
無奈, 道不成, 身先死; 可是復活昇天的耶穌基督, 也留下聖靈常伴在身心, 證明仍然沒有放棄救贖迷失的羔羊; 今天, 已得到聖靈的我們, 如同手中拿著一把火, 是應該付諸行動, 幫忙點亮那條迷失羔羊欲尋找的道.
摩賽亞書 Mosiah 11:46,54,56-66
４６ 因為拉曼人已佔領了這些地方；所以，拉曼人的國王已派任了管理這些地方的國王們。
46 For the Lamanites had taken possession of all these lands; therefore the king of the Lamanites had appointed kings over all these lands:
５４ 愛謬倫開始對阿爾瑪和他的弟兄們行使權力，開始迫害他，並叫他的子女迫害他們的子女。
54 And now it came to pass that Amulon began to exercise authority over Alma and his brethren, and began to persecute him, and cause that his children should persecute their children;
５６ 他仍對他們行使權力，叫他們做苦工，並派工頭監督他們。
56 Yet he exercised authority over them, and put tasks upon them, and put task-masters over them.
５７ 他們的痛苦是那麼大，以致他們開始向 神猛烈地呼求。
57 And it came to pass that so great were their afflictions, that they began to cry mightily to God.
５８ 愛謬倫命令他們停止他們的呼求；他派衛兵們監視他，凡發現有呼求 神的，就將他處死。
58 And Amulon commanded them that they should stop their cries; and he put guards over them to watch them, that whosoever should be found calling upon God, should be put to death.
５９ 阿爾瑪他的人民不敢對上主他們的 神發出聲音，卻將他們的心傾注於他；他知道他們心裏的情思。
59 And Alma and his people did not raise their voices to the Lord their God, but did pour out their hearts to him; and he did know the thoughts of their hearts.
６０ 上主的聲音在他們的苦難中臨到了他們說：抬起你們的頭來，暢快寬慰吧，因為我知道你們對我所立的約；我要和我的人民立約並救他們脫離束縛。
60 And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying, Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with this my people, and deliver them out of bondage.
６１ 我還要減輕你們肩上的負擔，甚至你們感覺不到你們的背上有負擔，即使在你們被奴役的時候；
61 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you can not feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage;
６２ 我這樣做，使你們今後好為我作證人，也使你們好確實知道我，上主 神，確在我人民的苦難中眷顧了他們。
62 And this will I do, that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.
６３ 那放在阿爾瑪和他弟兄們身上的擔子減輕了；
63 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren, were made light;
６４ 是的，上主加強了他們的力量，使他們能輕易地負起他們的重擔，他們愉快而耐心地順從上主一切的旨意。
64 Yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.
６５ 他們的信心和耐心是那麼大，以致上主的聲音又臨到了他們說：你們暢快寬慰吧，因為明天我必將你們從束縛中救出來。
65 And it came to pass that so great was their faith and their patience, that the voice of the Lord came unto them again, saying, Be of good comfort, for on the morrow I will deliver you out of bondage.
６６ 他對阿爾瑪說：你要走在這人民的前面，我要和你同行，並將這人民從束縛中救出來。
66 And he said unto Alma, Thou shalt go before this people, and I will go with thee, and deliver this people out of bondage.
尼腓人, 因背離耶和華的話, 終於被拉曼人攻陷城池, 而淪為拉曼人的奴僕; 這時候有阿爾瑪的忠信, 不氣餒的禱告祈求, 信靠耶和華, 才解救了尼腓人.
馬太福音 Matthew 5:16
16 你們的光也當這樣照在人前、叫他們看見你們的好行為、便將榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。
