我知道我們延續了幾個星期日都在談論”聖靈”, 今天, 我要再跟各位談談聖靈與有關的使徒,因聖靈對他們身心的種種影響, 及所給予我們留下的足堪模仿的典範.
使徒行傳 Acts 8:1-3 (Paul 保羅)
1 從這日起、耶路撒冷的教會、大遭逼迫．除了使徒以外、門徒都分散在猶太和撒瑪利亞各處。
And Saul was there, giving approval to his death. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.
2 有虔誠的人、把司提反埋葬了、為他捶胸大哭。
Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.
3 掃羅卻殘害教會、進各人的家、拉著男女下在監裡。
But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.
Saul 掃羅, 是改名以前的 Paul 保羅, 也是握有實權的, 針對基督徒的追殺者. 一日 神顯靈訓斥他, 掃羅、你為甚麼逼迫我? 並讓他失明數日, 直到門徒引領, 讓他知道 神已撿選他為使者, 今後當現身說法宣揚基督的福音.
使徒行傳 Acts 9:1-4; 5-9; 10-16
1 掃羅仍然向主的門徒、口吐威嚇兇殺的話、去見大祭司、
Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. He went to the high priest
2 求文書給大馬色的各會堂、若是找著信奉這道的人、無論男女、都准他捆綁帶到耶路撒冷。
and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
3 掃羅行路、將到大馬色、忽然從天上發光、四面照著他．
As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
4 他就仆倒在地、聽見有聲音對他說、掃羅、掃羅、你為甚麼逼迫我。
He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me"
5 他說、主阿、你是誰。主說、我就是你所逼迫的耶穌．
"Who are you, Lord" Saul asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied.
6 起來、進城去、你所當作的事、必有人告訴你。
"Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
7 同行的人、站在那裡、說不出話來、聽見聲音、卻看不見人。
The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone.
8 掃羅從地上起來、睜開眼睛、竟不能看見甚麼．有人拉他的手、領他進了大馬色．
Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.
9 三日不能看見、也不喫、也不喝。
For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.
10 當下在大馬色、有一個門徒、名叫亞拿尼亞．主在異象中對他說、亞拿尼亞．他說、主、我在這裡。
In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, "Ananias!" "Yes, Lord," he answered.
11 主對他說、起來、往直街去、在猶大的家裡、訪問一個大數人名叫掃羅．他正禱告．
The Lord told him, "Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.
12 又看見了一個人、名叫亞拿尼亞、進來按手在他身上、叫他能看見。
In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight."
13 亞拿尼亞回答說、主阿、我聽見許多人說、這人怎樣在耶路撒冷多多苦害你的聖徒．
"Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem.
14 並且他在這裡有從祭司長得來的權柄捆綁一切求告你名的人。
And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name."
15 主對亞拿尼亞說、你只管去．他是我所揀選的器皿、要在外邦人和君王並以色列人面前、宣揚我的名。
But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel.
16 我也要指示他、為我的名必須受許多的苦難。
I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."
此後, 掃羅 Saul 改名為保羅 Paul, 窮其一生周遊羅馬帝國各地, 大肆宣導基督的福音, 雖也曾遇難入獄, 憑藉誠摯的信仰, 一一度過難關.
使徒行傳 Acts 14:8-10; 19-20
8 路司得城裡坐著一個兩腳無力的人、生來是瘸腿的、從來沒有走過。
In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked.
9 他聽保羅講道。保羅定睛看他、見他有信心、可得痊愈、
He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed
10 就大聲說、你起來、兩腳站直。那人就跳起來而且行走。
and called out, "Stand up on your feet!" At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.
19 但有些猶太人、從安提阿和以哥念來、挑唆眾人、就用石頭打保羅、以為他是死了、便拖到城外。
Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead.
20 門徒正圍著他、他就起來、走進城去．第二天、同巴拿巴往特庇去、
But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
使徒行傳 Acts 16:23-24
23 打了許多棍、便將他們下在監裡、囑咐禁卒嚴緊看守。
After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.
24 禁卒領了這樣的命、就把他們下在內監裡、兩腳上了木狗。
Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
Paul 保羅領了 神給予的使命, 雖然困難重重, 又得時時冒著生命危險, 卻越挫越勇, 生死致之度外, 勇往直前, 實因著加諸在身上的聖靈, 指點方向, 每每化險為夷, 又能出奇致勝.
摩賽亞書 Mosiah 11:162-166; 204-205 (27:10-13; 35) (Alma阿爾瑪)
162 他到處去破壞神的教會時──他與摩賽亞的兒子偷偷地到各地，企圖破壞神的教會，將主的人民引入歧途，違反神的誡命和王的命令──
And now it came to pass that while he was going about to destroy the church of God, for he did go about secretly with the sons of Mosiah seeking to destroy the church, and to lead astray the people of the Lord, contrary to the commandments of God, or even the king—
163 就像我對你們說的，他們到各地去反叛神的時候，看啊，主的天使向他們顯現；他好像在雲中降下，說話聲如雷鳴一般，使他們所站的地方都為之震動。
And as I said unto you, as they were going about rebelling against God, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto them; and he descended as it were in a cloud; and he spake as it were with a voice of thunder, which caused the earth to shake upon which they stood;
164 他們驚駭萬分，倒在地上，聽不懂他對他們說的話。
And so great was their astonishment, that they fell to the earth, and understood not the words which he spake unto them.
165 雖然如此，天使仍大聲說道：阿爾瑪，起來，站過來，你為什麼迫害神的教會？
Nevertheless he cried again, saying: Alma, arise and stand forth, for why persecutest thou the church of God
166主說過：這是我的教會，我必建立它；除非我人民犯罪，否則什麼都不能推翻它。
For the Lord hath said: This is my church, and I will establish it; and nothing shall overthrow it, save it is the transgression of my people.
204-205 他們走遍柴雷罕拉地，到摩賽亞王統治下的人民那裡，全力彌補他們加於教會的傷害，承認他們所有的罪，傳講他們所看到的一切事，向所有願意聽他們講話的人解釋預言和經文。
And they traveled throughout all the land of Zarahemla, and among all the people who were under the reign of king Mosiah, zealously striving to repair all the injuries which they had done to the church, confessing all their sins, and publishing all the things which they had seen, and explaining the prophecies and the scriptures to all who desired to hear them.
另一位使徒就是 Alma 阿爾瑪, 他的情形跟保羅很相似,
阿爾瑪書 Alma 12:34-61(17:23-39)
34 艾蒙對他說：願意，我願意與這人民住一段時期；是的，或許就住到我死為止。
And Ammon said unto him: Yea, I desire to dwell among this people for a time; yea, and perhaps until the day I die.
35 事情是這樣的，拉摩那王非常喜歡艾蒙，叫人為艾蒙鬆綁，希望艾蒙娶他女兒為妻。
And it came to pass that king Lamoni was much pleased with Ammon, and caused that his bands should be loosed; and he would that Ammon should take one of his daughters to wife.
36 但是艾蒙對他說：不行，不過我願意作你的僕人。於是艾蒙成了拉摩那王的僕人。
But Ammon said unto him: Nay, but I will be thy servant. Therefore Ammon became a servant to king Lamoni.
37 事情是這樣的，艾蒙就依照拉曼人的習俗，被派去跟其他僕人一起看守拉摩那的羊群。
And it came to pass that he was set among other servants to watch the flocks of Lamoni, according to the custom of the Lamanites.
38 艾蒙為國王服務三天後，與拉曼僕人一起和羊到一處有水的地方，那地方叫作西巴士水流，拉曼人都把羊趕到那裡喝水。
And after he had been in the service of the king three days, as he was with the Lamanitish servants going forth with their flocks to the place of water, which was called the water of Sebus, and all the Lamanites drive their flocks hither, that they may have water—
39 因此，艾蒙和國王的僕人把羊趕到那有水的地方時，看啊，那裡已有一群拉曼人在放羊喝水；那些拉曼人起來驅散艾蒙和國王的僕人的羊群，他們驅散羊群，羊就到處亂竄。
Therefore, as Ammon and the servants of the king were driving forth their flocks to this place of water, behold, a certain number of the Lamanites, who had been with their flocks to water, stood and scattered the flocks of Ammon and the servants of the king, and they scattered them insomuch that they fled many ways.
40 國王的僕人開始埋怨說：國王會把我們殺了，以前我們的弟兄就是因為這些邪惡的人把他們的羊趕跑，而被國王殺了。
Now the servants of the king began to murmur, saying: Now the king will slay us, as he has our brethren because their flocks were scattered by the wickedness of these men.
41 他們開始痛哭說：看啊，我們的羊被趕跑了。
And they began to weep exceedingly, saying: Behold, our flocks are scattered already.
42 他們害怕被殺，所以都哭了。
Now they wept because of the fear of being slain.
43 艾蒙看了，心中充滿快樂；他說，我要在把國王的羊找回來這件事上，讓這些與我共事的僕人看到我的力量，看到那在我裡面的力量，這樣我就可以贏得這些與我共事的僕人的心，就可以引導他們相信我的話。
Now when Ammon saw this his heart was swollen within him with joy; for, said he, I will show forth my power unto these my fellow-servants, or the power which is in me, in restoring these flocks unto the king, that I may win the hearts of these my fellow-servants, that I may lead them to believe in my words.
44 這就是艾蒙看到他稱為弟兄的人愁苦時，心中的想法。
And now, these were the thoughts of Ammon, when he saw the afflictions of those whom he termed to be his brethren.
45 事情是這樣的，他好言相勸說：弟兄們，放心吧，讓我們去找羊，我們一定能把羊聚集起來，帶回那有水的地方，
And it came to pass that he flattered them by his words, saying: My brethren, be of good cheer and let us go in search of the flocks, and we will gather them together and bring them back unto the place of water;
46這樣我們就可以為國王保全羊群，國王就不會殺我們了。
and thus we will preserve the flocks unto the king and he will not slay us.
47 事情是這樣的，他們就去找那些羊；他們跟著艾蒙，飛快地衝向前，趕到國王的羊前頭，再次把羊聚集在一起，再帶到那有水的地方。
And it came to pass that they went in search of the flocks, and they did follow Ammon, and they rushed forth with much swiftness and did head the flocks of the king, and did gather them together again to the place of water.
48 那些人又站起來要驅散他們的羊；但是艾蒙對他弟兄說：你們把羊圍住，別讓牠們跑掉；我去和這些驅散我們羊群的人戰鬥。
And those men again stood to scatter their flocks; but Ammon said unto his brethren: Encircle the flocks round about that they flee not; and I go and contend with these men who do scatter our flocks.
49 他們照艾蒙的命令行事，艾蒙則挺身與那些站在西巴士水流邊的人戰鬥；
Therefore, they did as Ammon commanded them, and he went forth and stood to contend with those who stood by the waters of Sebus;
50 他們為數不少。因此他們不怕艾蒙，以為他們隨便一個人就可以殺死他，他們不知道主答應了摩賽亞，要從他們手中救出他的兒子；他們對主的事也一無所知，
And they were in number not a few. Therefore they did not fear Ammon, for they supposed that one of their men could slay him according to their pleasure, for they knew not that the Lord had promised Mosiah that he would deliver his sons out of their hands; neither did they know anything concerning the Lord;
51 因此以自己弟兄的毀滅為樂；這就是為什麼他們站起來驅散國王的羊。
therefore they delighted in the destruction of their brethren; and for this cause they stood to scatter the flocks of the king.
52 艾蒙上前開始用投石器向他們投石頭；
But Ammon stood forth and began to cast stones at them with his sling;
53 是的，他用力向他們投石頭，打死好幾個人，令他們開始對他的力量大感震驚；
yea, with mighty power he did sling stones amongst them; and thus he slew a certain number of them insomuch that they began to be astonished at his power;
54 然而他們因為弟兄被打死而非常憤怒，於是決定打倒他；
nevertheless they were angry because of the slain of their brethren, and they were determined that he should fall;
55 他們眼看石頭打不倒他，就拿著棍子上前想殺死他。
therefore, seeing that they could not hit him with their stones, they came forth with clubs to slay him.
56 但是看啊，凡舉起棍子要打艾蒙的人，都被他用劍砍斷了手臂；
But behold, every man that lifted his club to smite Ammon, he smote off their arms with his sword;
57 他用劍刃砍他們的手臂，擋住了他們的攻擊，令他們開始震驚，並開始逃跑；
for he did withstand their blows by smiting their arms with the edge of his sword, insomuch that they began to be astonished, and began to flee before him;
58 是的，他們為數不少，可是他以手臂的力量使他們逃跑。
yea, and they were not few in number; and he caused them to flee by the strength of his arm.
59 他們有六個人被投石器打倒，但除為首者外，他沒有用劍殺死任何人；凡動手攻擊他的人，手臂都被砍下來，為數不少。
Now six of them had fallen by the sling, but he slew none save it were their leader with his sword; and he smote off as many of their arms as were lifted against him, and they were not a few.
60 他把他們趕到很遠的地方以後才回來；他們讓羊喝了水，就把羊趕回國王的牧場，然後帶著那些想殺害艾蒙，卻被他用劍擊掉的人的手臂，去見國王；
And when he had driven them afar off, he returned and they watered their flocks and returned them to the pasture of the king, and then went in unto the king, bearing the arms which had been smitten off by the sword of Ammon, of those who sought to slay him;
61 他們帶著那些手臂去見國王，證明他們所做的事。
and they were carried in unto the king for a testimony of the things which they had done.
