摩賽亞書 Mosiah 7:1-7
１ 辛尼夫把國度給了諾亞，他的一個兒子；因此諾亞開始繼承了他的王位；他並不照著他父親的路走。
1 And now it came to pass that Zeniff conferred the kingdom upon Noah, one of his sons; therefore Noah began to reign in his stead; and he did not walk in the ways of his father.
２ 因為他並不邊守 神的誡命，卻照著他自己心裏的慾望而生活。
2 For behold, he did not keep the commandments of God, but he did walk after the desires of his own heart.
３ 他有許多妻妾。
3 And he had many wives and concubines.
４ 他使他人民犯罪，並做那些在上主眼中是可憎的事情。
4 And did cause his people to commit sin, and do that which was abominable in the sight of the Lord.
５ 是的，他們淫亂和種種的邪惡。
5 Yea, and they did commit whoredoms, and all manner of wickedness.
６ 他對他們的所持有的一切都抽取五分之一的稅捐，他們的金和銀的五分之一，他們的「錫夫」、銅、黃銅、鐵的五分之一；他們的家畜的五分之一，以及所有他們穀類的五分之一。
6 And he laid a tax of one fifth part of all they possessed; a fifth part of their gold and of their silver; and a fifth part of their ziff, and of their copper, and of their brass and their iron; and a fifth part of their fatlings; and also, a fifth part of all their grain.
７ 這一切他拿來供養他的妻妾，還有他的祭司們和他們的妻妾；他就這樣變更了國事。
7 And all this did he take, to support himself, and his wives, and his concubines, and also, his priests, and their wives, and their concubines; thus he had changed the affairs of the kingdom.
諾亞王即位後, 不僅沒有遵守先人的祖訓->勤政愛民, 更把神的誡律束之高閣, 是一個極其揮霍與淫亂的領導人. 祭師們中, 有位名叫阿賓納代 Abinadi 的首先發難, 指摘諾亞王的敗壞綱常與壓迫百姓.
摩賽亞書 Mosiah 7:28-60
２８ 這時他們中間有一個人，名叫阿賓納代；他來到他們中間，開始預言說：
28 And it came to pass that there was a man among them, whose name was Abinadi; and he went forth among them, and began to prophesy, saying,
２９ 聽啊，上主這樣說，並這樣吩附我，
29 Behold, thus saith the Lord, and thus hath he commanded me, saying,
３０ 去告訴這人民，上主這樣說：
30 Go forth and say unto this people, Thus saith the Lord:
３１ 這人民有禍了，因為我已看到了他們的憎行，他們的邪惡，和他們的淫亂；除非悔改，我必在我的憤怒中降罰他們。
31 Wo be unto this people, for I have seen their abominations, and their wickedness, and their whoredoms: and except they repent, I will visit them in mine anger.
３２ 除非他們悔改而轉向上主他們的 神，我必將他們交到他們敵人的手中；
32 And except they repent, and turn to the Lord their God, behold, I will deliver them into the hands of their enemies;
３３ 他們必被帶進束縛中；他們必被他們敵人的手所折磨。
33 Yea, and they shall be brought into bondage; and they shall be afflicted by the hand of their enemies.
３４ 他們必將知道我是上主他們的 神，一位不許不信的 神，在降罰我的人民的罪惡。
34 And it shall come to pass that they shall know that I am the Lord their God, and am a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of my people.
３５ 除非這人民悔改而轉向上主他們的 神，他們必被帶進束縛中；除了上主全能之 神外，沒有人會解救他們。
35 And it shall come to pass that except this people repent, and turn unto the Lord their God, they shall be brought into bondage; and none shall deliver them, except it be the Lord, the Almighty God.
３６ 當他們向我呼求的時候，我要遲於聆聽他們的呼求；而且我要讓他們遭受他們敵人的打擊。
36 Yea, and it shall come to pass that when they shall cry unto me, I will be slow to hear their cries; yea, and I will suffer them that they be smitten by their enemies.
３７ 除非他們在喪服和灰燼中悔改，並強烈地呼上主他們的 神，我必不聽他們的禱告，也不解救他們脫離他們的苦難。
37 And except they repent in sackcloth and ashes, and cry mightily to the Lord their God, I will not hear their prayers, neither will I deliver them out of their afflictions;
３８ 上主這樣說，並這樣吩咐了我。
38 And thus saith the Lord, and thus hath he commanded me.
３９ 當阿賓納代他們講了這些話後，他們對他大為憤怒，圖謀取他的性命；但是上主從他們手中把他救出來。
39 Now it came to pass that when Abinadi had spoken these words unto them, they were wroth with him, and sought to take away his life; but the Lord delivered him out of their hands.
４０ 當諾亞王聽到了阿賓納代對他人民所講的話後，他也震怒。
40 Now when King Noah had heard of the words which Abinadi had spoken unto the people, he was also wroth;
４１ 他說：阿賓納代是誰，要他來論斷我和我的人民，上主又是誰，要把這樣大的苦難帶給我的人民？
41 And he said, Who is Abinadi, that I and my people should be judged of him? Or who is the Lord, that shall bring upon my people such great afflictions?
４２ 我命令你們把阿賓納代帶到這裏來，好讓我殺死他，因為他講這些話是要煽動我的人民彼此相恨，而在我的人民中引起紛爭；所以我要殺死他。
42 I command you to bring Abinadi hither, that I may slay him; for he has said these things, that he might stir up my people to anger, one with another, and to raise contentions among my people; therefore I will slay him.
４３ 人民的眼睛已糊塗了；所以他們硬著心來反對阿賓代的話語，從那時起，他們一心想捉住他。
43 Now the eyes of the people were blinded; therefore, they hardened their hearts against the words of Abinadi, and they sought from that time forward to take him.
４４ 諾亞王也硬起他的心來反對上主的話，並不悔改他的惡行。
44 And King Noah hardened his heart against the word of the Lord; and he did not repent of his evil doings.
４５ 過了兩年後，阿賓納代喬裝來到他們中間，他們不認識他；他開始在他們之中預言說：
45 And it came to pass that after the space of two years, that Abinadi came among them in disguise, that they knew him not, and began again to prophesy among them, saying,
４６ 上主這樣命令我，說，阿賓納代，去向我這人民預言，因為他們已硬起心來反對我的話；他們沒有悔改他們的惡行；
46 Thus hath the Lord commanded me, saying, Abinadi, go and prophesy unto this my people, for they have hardened their hearts against my words; they have repented not of their evil doings;
４７ 因此，我要在憤怒中降罰他們，是的，在我激烈的憤怒中我要降罰他們的罪惡和憎行。這一代有禍了。
47 Therefore, I will visit them in my anger, yea, in my fierce anger will I visit them in their iniquities and abominations; yea, wo be unto this generation.
４８ 上主曾對我說，伸出你的手來預言說，上主這樣說：這一代，由於他們的罪惡，必被帶進束縛中，並被掌摑，
48 And the Lord said unto me, Stretch forth thy hand, and prophesy, saying, Thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that this generation, because of their iniquities, shall be brought into bondage, and shall be smitten on the cheek;
４９ 還要被人驅逐，被殺害；天空的兀魔、狗和野獸，都必吞食他們的肉。
49 Yea, and shall be driven by men, and shall be slain; and the vultures of the air, and the dogs, yea, and the wild beasts, shall devour their flesh.
５０ 諾亞王生命的價值，必像洪爐中的衣服；因為他必將知我是上主。
50 And it shall come to pass that the life of King Noah shall be valued even as a garment in a hot furnace; for he shall know that I am the Lord.
５１ 我要用極大的苦難來責罰我這人民，就是要用饑荒和瘟疫；我要使他們終日號哭。
51 And it shall come to pass that I will smite this my people with sore afflictions; yea, with famine and with pestilence; and I will cause that they shall howl all the day long.
５２ 我要使重擔縛在他們的背上；他們要像一頭笨驢般被驅使著。
52 Yea, and I will cause that they shall have burdens lashed upon their backs; and they shall be driven before, like a dumb ass.
５３ 我要使冰雹降在他們之中來責罰他們；他們還要受到東風的責罰；昆蟲也要煩擾他們的土地，吞食他們的穀類。
53 And it shall come to pass that I will send forth hail among them, and it shall smite them; and they shall also be smitten with the east wind; and insects shall pester their land also, and devour their grain.
５４ 他們要受到一次大瘟疫的責罰；我要做這一切是由於他們的罪惡和憎行。
54 And they shall be smitten with a great pestilence; and all this will I do, because of their iniquities and abominations.
５５ 除非他們悔改，我必將他們從地面上徹底的消滅。
55 And it shall come to pass that except they repent, I will utterly destroy them from off the face of the earth;
５６ 然而他們必留下一個記錄，我必為要佔有這地的其他民族保全這些記錄；
56 Yet they shall leave a record behind them, and I will preserve them for other nations which shall possess the land;
５７ 我這樣也是為了要對別的民族揭露這人民的憎行。
57 Yea, even this will I do, that I may discover the abominations of this people to other nations.
５８ 阿賓納代還了預言了許多對這人民不利的事情。
58 And many things did Abinadi prophesy against this people.
５９ 他們對他很憤怒；他們捉住了他，並將他綁到國王的面前，對國王說：
59 And it came to pass that they were angry with him; and they took him and carried him bound before the king and said unto the king,
６０ 看啊，我們已把這個人帶到你的面前，他預言了關於你的人民的兇禍，說 神要毀滅他們。
60 Behold, we have brought a man before thee who has prophesied evil concerning thy people, and saith that God will destroy them;
被捕前的阿賓納代 Abinadi 四處宣揚神的王國, 也大肆抨擊諾亞王的罪惡與憎行; 並預言盲從的百姓們, 將會隨著邪惡的諾亞王, 遭致最重毀滅性的懲罰.
摩賽亞書 Mosiah 9:1-30
１ 當阿賓納代講完了這些話，國王就命令祭司們逮他，並要將他處死。
1 And now it came to pass that when Abinadi and finished these sayings, that the king commanded that the priests should take him and cause that he should be put to death.
２ 但他們之中還有一個尼腓的後裔，名叫阿爾瑪。
2 But there was one among them, whose name was Alma, he also being a descendant of Nephi.
３ 他是一個年青人，他相信了阿賓納代所講的話，因為他知道阿賓納代所證明的他們的不義；
3 And he was a young man, and he believed the words which Abinadi had spoken, for he knew concerning the iniquity which Abinadi had testified against them:
４ 所以他開紿向國王請求不要生阿賓納代的氣，卻要容忍，讓他平安地離開。
4 Therefore he began to plead with the king that he would not be angry with Abinadi, but suffer that he might depart in peace.
５ 但國王更憤怒了，他叫人把阿爾瑪從他們之中趕出去，並派他的僕人們跟蹤他，以便將他殺死。
5 But the king was more wroth, and caused that Alma should be cast out from among them, and sent his servants after him, that they might slay him.
６ 但他逃走了，並藏起來，他們找不到他。
6 But he fled from before them, and hid himself, that they found him not.
７ 他躲藏了許多日子，把阿賓納代所講的話都寫了下來。
7 And he, being concealed for many days, did write all the words which Abinadi had spoken.
８ 國王叫他的衛兵包圍了阿賓納代，並予以逮捕；他們把他綁起來，下在監獄中。
8 And it came to pass that the king caused that his guards should surround Abinadi, and take him; and they bound him and cast him into prison.
９ 過了三天後，他和祭司們商量好了，又叫人把阿賓納代帶到他面前。
9 And after three days, having counseled with his priests, he caused that he should again be brought before him.
１０ 他對他說，阿賓納代，我們已發現你的一個罪狀，足以把你處死了。
10 And he said unto him, Abinadi, we have found an accusation against thee, and thou art worthy of death.
１１ 因為你曾說 神自己要降臨在人類兒女中；
11 For thou hast said that God himself should come down among the children of men;
１２ 現在，為了這一個理由你要被處死，除非你願意取消所有說過的關於我和我人民的壞話。
12 And now for this cause thou shalt be put to death, unless thou wilt recall all the words which thou hast spoken evil concerning me and my people.
１３ 阿賓納代對他說：我告訴你，我不願取消我對你說過的關於這人民的話語，因為它們是真實的；
13 Now Abinadi said unto him: I say unto you, I will not recall the words which I have spoken unto you concerning this people, for they are true;
１４ 為了使你知道這些話的真實性，我已讓我自己落進了你的手中。
14 And that ye may know of their surety, I have suffered myself that I have fallen into your hands.
１５ 我甚至寧願受死也不願取消我的話語，這些話必將作為不利你們的見證。
15 Yea, and I will suffer even until death, and I will not recall my words, and they shall stand as a testimony against you.
１６ 如果你們殺死我，你們是流無辜的血，這在末日也必作為不利你們的見證。
16 And if ye slay me, ye will shed innocent blood, and this shall also stand as a testimony against you at the last day.
１７ 諾亞王幾乎要將他釋放了，因為他害怕他的話；因為他害怕 神的懲罰要臨到他。
17 And now King Noah was about to release him, for he feared his word; for he feared that the judgments of God would come upon him.
１８ 但祭司們提高了他們的聲音反對他，並開始控訴他說：他已誹謗了國王。
18 But the priests lifted up their voices against him, and began to accuse him, saying: He has reviled the king.
１９ 因此國王被激怒而反對他，他把他交了出來，好讓他被殺死。
19 Therefore the king was stirred up in anger against him, and he delivered him up, that he might be slain.
２０ 他們逮住了他，綑綁了他，並用火把燒灼他的皮膚，直至死亡。
20 And it came to pass that they took him, and bound him, and scourged his skin with fagots, yea, even unto death.
２１ 當火焰開始燒灼的時候，他對他們大聲呼叫說：看啊，就像你們做在我身上的樣，也必使你們的後代許多人受到被火燒死的痛苦；就因為他們相信上主他們的 神的救恩。
21 And now when the flames began to scorch him, he cried unto them, saying: Behold, even as ye have done unto me, so shall it come to pass that thy seed shall cause that many shall suffer the pains that I do suffer, even the pains of death, by fire; and this because they believe in the salvation of the Lord their God.
２２ 你們必將因你們的罪惡而受到各種疾病的折磨。
22 And it will come to pass that ye shall be afflicted with all manner of diseases, because of your iniquities.
２３ 你們必在每一方面被打擊，並被來回地驅散，像一群野羊，被狂暴而兇殘的野獸所追逐。
23 Yea, and ye shall be smitten on every hand, and shall be driven and scattered to and fro, even as a wild flock is driven by wild and ferocious beasts.
２４ 在那天你們必被追獵，並被你們敵人的手捕獲，然後你們必像我一樣，忍受那被火燒死的痛苦。
24 And in that day ye shall be hunted, and ye shall be taken by the hand of your enemies, and then ye shall suffer, as I suffer, the pains of death by fire.
２５ 神這樣對那些毀滅他人民的人們來實施報復。
25 Thus God executeth vengeance upon those that destroy his people.
２６ 神啊，請接納我的靈魂。
26 O God, receive my soul.
２７ 阿賓納代說了這些話，就倒下去，被火燒死了；是的因為他不願拒絕 神的命令而被處死了，他用他的死印證了他的話語的真實性。
27 And now when Abinadi had said these words, he fell, having suffered death by fire; yea, having been put to death because he would not deny the commandments of God: having sealed the truth of his words by his death.
２８ 阿爾瑪，他已逃過了諾亞王的僕人們，悔改了他的罪惡和不義，秘密來到了人民之中開始教導阿賓納代的話；
28 And now it came to pass that Alma, who had fled from the servants of King Noah, repented of his sins and iniquities, and went about privately among the people, and began to teach the words of Abinadi;
２９ 就是關於將要來到的事，和關於死人的復活，以及人民的救贖，這救贖是藉著基督的權力，受難和死亡，以及他的復活和昇天而完成的。
29 Yea, concerning that which was to come, and also concerning the resurrection of the dead, and the redemption of the people, which was to be brought to pass through the power, and sufferings, and death of Christ, and his resurrection and ascension into heaven.
３０ 所有願意聽他話語的人，他都教導了他們。
30 And as many as would hear his word he did teach.
阿賓納代為了捍衛正義與不容質疑的神的存在而死, 深深影響了另一位年輕的祭師 – 阿爾瑪 Alma, 而且穆爾曼經書裡, 有很大的章節, 都是記載阿爾瑪, 可說是整本經書的主軸. 而阿爾瑪, 是一位相當年輕的祭師, 他聽進了阿賓納代的話, 開始反思諾亞王的種種惡形惡狀, 也因代言請求諾亞王釋放阿賓納代, 遭到其他祭師弄臣們的攻訐, 只好逃離王國, 去教導願意聽他話的人民.
穩固的地基 A Firm Foundation (見證藍皮書 p.109-p.110)
亨利史密斯, 曾經負責建造大會堂 - 也是末世聖徒復興耶穌基督教會總部的建築師. 亨利把設計藍圖交給承包商後, 著手動工前的準備.
一開始, 花了很多時間在為這個超級大建案, 設定安裝好地基的各個樁腳. 終於, 承包商通知亨利說, 一切準備就緒, 就等明天一早八點整, 水泥車的到來.
當夜兩點鐘, 亨利卻被一位神的使者 - 天使給喚醒. 天使告知, 那建物的施工準備並不完善. 因為承包商把一根承受主體建物重量的主樑給抽出了. 那是一根整體建物不可或缺, 而且無法於事後補上的樑. 如果樑被省略了, 當大會堂完成時, 可能有潛在危險致成危險建物. 天使話一說完, 馬上消失無影無蹤.
又驚又慌的亨利史密斯, 幾幾乎旋即從床上彈跳起身. 他想, 要馬上確認承包商所做的準備, 究竟有沒有抽出那根主樑. 他立即鑽進他的車, 以極快的速度, 趕到了承包商與他那班工人白天工作所在的工地. 就著月光, 他仔細的檢查所有的樑柱, 突然發現有一根主樑的支撐真的被被移除了.
除了震驚不已, 還奇怪為何承包商會這麼做? 史密斯弟兄當下一屁股坐在支架上. 他想: 看來, 離早上八點鐘還有段很長時間, 他現在若回去睡回籠覺, 很可能睡過頭, 錯過開工時間. 所以, 他決定就在工地等承包商和上工的眾人.
史密斯弟兄感謝神, 差遣天使給予他及時且相當重要的資訊. 當承包商抵達時, 他們又再一次的確認並解決問題, 好確定這大會堂將會建在一個穩固的地基上.
尼腓三書 3rd Nephi 9:4
４ 第二天，當群眾聚集在一起時，看啊，尼腓和由他從死裏活的兄弟提摩太，他兒子邱拿司，瑪索乃，他的兄弟瑪索乃哈，苦曼，苦曼安海，耶利米，合舍嫩，裘拿司，西底家，和以賽亞（這些是耶穌所選的門徒的名字）；
4 And it came to pass that on the morrow, when the multitude was gathered together, behold Nephi and his brother whom he had raised from the dead, whose name was Timothy, and also his son, whose name was Jonas, and also Mathoni, and Mathonihah, his brother, and Kumen, and Kumenonhi, and Jeremiah, and Shemnon, and Jonas, and Zedekiah, and Isaiah: now these were the names of the disciples whom Jesus had chosen.
耶蘇基督, 知道人們的惰性, 也經不起外界的誘惑, 遂在十二個門徒中, 撿選三個人, 繼續留在人世間, 為他督導與關切平民百姓的種種需求, 並給與即時的解決方針. 正所謂：只要你相信 神的存在, 祈求禱告後, 就是奇蹟的見證.
尼腓三書 3rd Nephi 13:12-13, 17, 19, 24
１２ 耶穌說了這些話，就個別對門徒說：當我到父那裏去以後，你們有什麼願望向我要求嗎？
12 And it came to pass when Jesus had said these words, he spake unto his disciples, one by one, saying unto them, What is it that ye desire of me after that I am gone to the Father?
１３ 他們之中除了三人外，都說：我們願望當我們活到人類的壽命，你召喚我們的傳這工作得以有一結束後，使我們可以很快來到你那裏，在你的國度中。
13 And they all spake, save it were three, saying, We desire that after we have lived unto the age of man, that our ministry, wherein thou hast called us, may have an end, that we may speedily come unto thee, in thy kingdom.
１７ 他對他們說：我知道你們的心思，你們要求我的事，和那位在我被猶太人舉起前，跟著我一起傳道的，我所愛的約翰曾向我要求的是一樣的。
17 And he said unto them, Behold, I know your thoughts, and ye have desired the thing which John, my beloved, who was with me in my ministry, before that I was lifted up by the Jews, desired of me;
１９ 你們永不會忍受死亡的痛苦；但是，當我在我的榮耀中來時，你們卻要在一霎眼間從必死變成不死；那時你們必在我父的國度中蒙福。
19 And ye shall never endure the pains of death; but when I shall come in my glory, ye shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye, from mortality to immortality; and then shall ye be blessed in the kingdom of my Father.
２４ 耶穌說完這些話，就用手指接觸他們每一個人，除了那將要留在世上的三人，然後他離開了。
24 And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he touched every one of them with his finger, save it were the three who were to tarry, and then he departed.
不移的信心 Moving By Faith (見證紅皮書 p.56)
凱利督導, 在他擔任教會督導主席期間, 他常碰到各種煩人難以解決的事, 並因親眼所見的事, 增強其信心.
他看到當時的傳教士與其家庭, 因有一段長達數月之久的時間, 他們沒能得到足夠的生活基金收入來源, 日子可說是過得相當的清平與窘困.
有一次, 又是這樣的情形發生時, 有三個人來到他位於愛荷華州拉蒙乃地區, 傳訊者出版社的辦公室. 隨即討論起教會的窘境, 他們非常了解這些困擾督導主席的問題所在.
討論過了一陣子後, 其中一人起身走向督導的座位, 並拿出一張上頭寫有一筆, 為數不少的紐約銀行的匯票, 放在他桌上. 當凱利弟兄看到那張匯票時, 高興得差點跳起來, 他知道終於等到一筆巨額的生活基金, 可以好好改善傳教士與其家庭的生活困境了. 他想這匯票來得可正是時候, 也再三的謝謝他們猶如一場甘霖的'及時雨', 瞬間解了饑民之渴.
當他們起身告別時, 凱利弟兄問起他們的名字, 其中一個人說, 我們的名字並不重要, 但我們要告訴你的是, 我們就是那三個逗留在世間等待主耶穌基督再臨的尼腓人.
